Merry Christmas

Because of my self diagnosed OCD, I would like to say that every Christmas brings the same routine and same events in the same order.  But, that is simply just not true.  I guess that is what makes the holidays such a special time of year.

We spent our first day of Christmas at my parent's house with both of my parents and brothers.  Santa even came to visit!  Little Alex could hardly be fooled.  As soon as Santa walked in, Alex exclaimed, "Grandpa, what are you doing!?"  We eventually talked him into that it wasn't Grandpa, but Santa Claus.  Although I thought he had been convinced, when Santa left, Alex said, "Bye Grandpa, I mean Santa".

Aiden hid from Santa.  He was very scared.  When Santa brought out the gifts, he treaded over to him a little easier.

The boys with the boys.

Andy, my brothers and my Uncle Jeff have been into making beer for a while.  My dad crafted up some carriers for them.  All the "boys" were very excited.

Alex was so excited for present time.  Both for giving and receiving.  He loved helping hand out gifts to everyone and making the piles of presents.  Aiden loved it too, wanting to be just like his big brother.

I had this brilliant idea.  All the boys love zubaz so I went online and order Zubaz for my dad, brothers, Andy, and Alex.  They didn't sell them in Aiden's size, so my mom hemmed them up and they are perfect.  It is so funny because not only did I have this brilliant idea, but Luke did too.  So, they all went up 2 pairs of Zubaz this Christmas.  I didn't hear anyone complaining though.

My mom makes ornaments every year for everyone in the family.  Alex got a Twins baseball (his birthday theme), Aiden got a police man (Halloween costume), I got a tooth (because my teeth have been giving me problems) and Andy got a beer mug (his new hobby).  I love taking these out each year and remembering back to the things that happened in our family during those years.

Aiden got a shovel that he loves.  I don't know if he put it down after opening it that night.  He loves to "help".  Uncle Luke also bought Alex ice skates and a hockey stick.  Hoping this isn't a sport Alex wants to join, but a hobby he can take part in.  He was very excited!  The next day he got to go skating with his Johnson Uncles and his and Pete's picture was in the Prior Lake American this last week.

The boys also got matching hats :)

Along with his new shovel, Aiden really enjoyed looking at all the pictures in Grandma and Grandpa's Shutterfly calendar.

The boys got a new train that we immediately set up.  They are still amazed at how it works.  Anything that goes...

I know Christmas was a few weeks ago and this post is late.  But, I am more thankful today for the family I have been blessed with.  You learn to take for granted those blessings, or just not be as aware of them.  Although they are marriage vows that Andy and I took, that our parents took, Grandparents and so on... they hold true for your entire family, "For better or for worse, through sickness and health..." we will always be there for one another and that's all that matters. Family means strength.

Merry Christmas!
