Well...This weekend we headed up to Mound to celebrate my cousin, Robbie's, 18th birthday. The shy little boy that we sang Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba Baran for and that I remember him being is gone. He is a strong, independent, genuinely nice guy. Alex was so looking forward to going to his birthday party and wondering all day what his theme would be. Haha. I guess if we put a theme on it, Robbie's party would have been the Italian Cards theme. Because no doubt there will amazing Italian food and cards.
There were a lot of people in attendance and it took a while for the boys to warm up the excitement. My uncle Frank made 12 delicious home made pizzas and an Italian feast. Alex enjoyed sitting with Grandpa during cards and Aiden enjoyed flirting and running around.
Doesn't he look happy? |
I honestly can't remember the last time I saw my uncle Frank, maybe my wedding? I think everybody agreed, it was really good to see him again.
We spent some time in the pool where Alex learned a difficult lesson. He was listening so well and swimming with Grace and Joe. We got out of the pool to have some ice cream and then he didn't want to leave. It was 8 o'clock at night. For a little boy that goes to sleep at 7ish, it was late. He quickly ran away from me and into the water. Both myself and Grace saw him run into the water, and we both ended up going into the water to get him with our clothes on. Why does my boy have to be the one to learn the hard way? This boy is going to give me a run for my money...
I didn't get a picture, but my Aunt Darcy gave Alex some scotcheroo bars to take home. About 8. He held the container tight all the way home and would not let anyone touch it.
Robbie is in the orange with some of his cousins there to celebrate with him!
Happy Birthday, Rob!
