Our first weekend in Florida was spent mostly with my Grandma and Grandpa. But, there were two other things that we wanted to try and squeeze in if we could. First, we wanted to make it to Sanibel Island. I have so many fond memories of going there as a kid and the feeling of the white, soft sand in your toes. We were not sure how the rest of the week would pan out for weather (and good thing we thought ahead), so we headed there one morning.
I wish it had been this warm the whole time we were in Florida. It was gorgeous. Where we were the "beach" area was awfully shallow, but it was fun walking along and looking at seashells. Aiden definitely needed to hold hands with someone the whole time or he would have been swept away in each and every wash of the water. Alex loved trying to jump over the waves and fell a few times, but that just made it that much more fun!
The other thing we wanted to do while in Florida was go to a Twins spring training game. We brought all of our shirts and hats along and went to an afternoon game.
We decided to opt for the cheaper grass seats in right field and I am glad we did! We were on a hill, but could see the field perfectly and the boys could run around if they wanted to.
TC even visited the hill area! Alex was beyond excited...Aiden not so much.
It turned out we picked an awesome game to go to because the Twins got seven runs in one inning. One of those runs included a Joe Mauer home-run and boy was Alex excited!
Aiden enjoyed the food and playing around time. It may be a few more years for him to truly enjoy the game of baseball, but it was fun to go as a family. We will definitely do it again!
Let's go Twins!
