Cassie has started helping me throw these parties and it's super fun that we have our own little sleepover the night before the party. Andy picked her up at her parent's house on Friday night on his way home from work with the intention of meeting us in New Prague for the annual Holiday Parade. But, with such cold temperatures, the parade didn't happen and we stayed home. Cassie made us dinner (Cheeseburger hotdish), we all played Alex's new Connect Four Launchers game (which I would highly suggest, even Aiden could play it and loved it), we read some books with the boys and put them to bed. Andy recently bought me a new TV that has SMART capabilities and I never thought I would say this, but I think I'm in love. Andy, Cassie and I watched a few episodes of Breaking Bad through Netflix and had a great time together.
We woke up (some earlier than others) Saturday morning ready to work and get ready for the day. Andy made some home made omelets and potatoes for breakfast and we got to busy crafting and cooking. We were done in the kitchen by noon and then my mom came to help us get the garage ready. It is days like this that I truly appreciate a heated garage. The boys had some lunch and went down for naps like champs so Andy, my mom, Cassie and I could get to work on the garage. We were ahead of schedule and ready for guests to arrive at 3:30. When Alex saw the decorations he was over the moon with joy. I love seeing his excitement!
It was fun getting to sit and chat with people this year. We talked, had some food/cake/ice cream, opened presents, took some pictures, and hit the pirate pinata that came all the way back from Washington state with us.
The little guys and the adults were all exhausted by the end of the day. My little guy is growing up into a big guy. He is a full hand old now. Time sure does fly...
