The Birthday Weekend

My baby is officially ONE.  A year can go by in the blink of an eye.  Although the weekend didn't pan out the way we had intended, we were able to squeeze in a little bit of fun. Before I actually got sick, we needed to get away from Andy when he was sick.  (Which probably didn't help anyway).  We headed to the Children's Museum for Aiden's first visit.

My little man walked for almost the entire time we were there

I didn't get many pictures because I was by myself with the two boys, but I got a few in the water area because they were both having a blast.

Alex is such a great big brother, he was showing Aiden how to play in the water and Aiden loved it.  I just love to watch them interact and learn more about each other and their roles with each other.

Alex told me he was going to plant me flowers for Valentine's Day.  What a sweetie. The kid's going to be a heart breaker.

They played in the doghouse, because Alex said he wanted to see "Grandpa's house".  Do you think he has heard that a time or two?

Aiden was exhausted after lunch on his birthday.  Lots of playing with big brother and LOTS of practice walking around the house.  He slept for 4 hours, so did big brother, so did Mom and Dad.

Well rested and ready to play...

Never would this happen on a normal day, but Andy and I could hardly move let alone pick a battle over toys.  Have at it, boys!

On Sunday, Grandpa and Grandma Johnson (after they were feeling better) came over at breakfast time to give Aiden (and Alex) a birthday muffin.  They loved them to pieces, literally.

For Aiden's birthday, I made some monkey cupcakes to go with his Jungle themed party.  They were supposed to go to daycare, and they did this week.  But, they had the opportunity to test them out this weekend on Aiden's actual birthday.

Happy First Birthday, Little Man!  I can't believe he is one already and I know what a cliche that is, but it is true.  I couldn't imagine a better YOU, Mr. Aiden!
