The End of 2011-2012

Haha..I was not going to do this post, but we had too much fun not to do it!  This was one of my most fun years of teaching yet.  We had a lot of changes in our school (good and bad) and every year is different from the next.  I had a tough case load and a lot of challenges, but at the end of the day I love my job.  I love the people I work with and the district I work for.  I am blessed with the opportunity to teach in this district and with my mom.  I have learned so much from her as she is such an excellent role model and teacher.  Her students are so lucky to have her.  Our program will be changing a lot next year and I have been so lucky to have the opportunity to teach with Kevin.  As he likes to say, he has known me for 29 years, since I was just a wee one.  He does a remarkable job with his students and also a wonderful role model.  It was Vanessa's first year of teaching and I was her mentor.  I don't feel like I did much for her.  She is so good at what she does and such a natural.  We are lucky to have her as a part of our team.  I look forward to teaching with her for years to come.
It was the last day (workshop day) and we were cleaning out the rooms and getting ready for summer.  We took a quick couple of pictures to document the end of this year.

If you can't have fun together and laugh together, what's the point?
With no further ado, here is our favorite animal.  Can you guess what mine was?

With the end of the school year came the end of the daycare year.  I wasn't really sad because this is a normal routine for us.  Daycare during the school year, say goodbye and back in the fall.  Needless to say it isn't real yet.  Our family has been so blessed to have Niki for the past two years.  Although it makes me sad to not be with my babies during the day, I couldn't have been more at ease knowing they were safe and happy with Niki.  She loved them and cared for them without judgment.  She was part of our family.  But, she has decided to go back into the "working" world in the fall.  (As if daycare isn't work)  We are very sad to not have her for daycare, but know that she will forever be in our hearts and a true friend.  We are very sad about Niki and even more sad about not being with Alex and Aiden's friends, Carter and Grace.  Carter and Alex are 6 months apart and have been going to daycare together since Alex was 9 months old.  Carter and his family have been great and dear friends to us.  We hope to be able to maintain a friendship throughout this (what to seems to be) divorce.  I know, how dramatic, right?
We have found new daycare for the fall and are very relieved and hopeful for a long and healthy relationship with her and her family.
