On our second trip to a state park we decided upon Sakatah Lake State Park. Before going, Andy picked Alex his favorite color flower from our yard and he didn't let that thing go. We were going to go to Andy's parents after spending the morning at the park. The intention was to give the flower to Grandma Guse when we saw her, but boy, Alex couldn't part with it.
He found a hidden caterpillar!
My big boy pumped the water all on his own and was so fascinated by how it worked. But, why, Mom...?
This trip was also early in June and we had some torrential rain fall. Maybe that's exaggerating, but there was a lot of rain. There was a tree down on our path that we were able to climb over. There were a lot of mosquitoes on this trip!
We found some delicious and ripe for the picking raspberries on our trip! I never would have thought the purple looking ones were the ripe ones, but Husband knows best...
We walked out onto a dock and looked out at the ducks swimming on the lake. Alex was in his element.
These trails were a bit slimmer than I would have cared for, but now we know! To the right of Alex is water. This next picture it doesn't look bad, but most of the time I was either carrying Alex or holding his hand.
Aiden had a great time also. He was trying to grab leaves everywhere, mostly because they were right by him. He and Andy made a game out of it.
Alex thought the water was "Yucky" and "Stinky" so we didn't stay here for very long.
We had a great time at Sakatah State Park. Next time, Andy and I have already talked about bringing the bikes so we can go on the bike trail. This time it was a little too mosquitoey for me! The bike trail is supposed to be one of the best though. We had a great family day. We then headed down to Andy's parents to surprise them and wish Grandpa Guse a "Happy Father's Day!"
