Strawberry Pickin'

Another tradition.
Strawberry picking in Northfield.  I missed last year so Aiden has not been with yet, but Alex has gone every year since being born.  Alex was very much into it this year, trying to find the biggest strawberry he could.

This was my first year going picking without my Grandma Andersen.  We missed her.  My mom was sure to pick some berries for her as well because we know how much she loves to eat them!  Strawberries were ready for the picking much earlier this year than last year and we jumped on the opportunity right away.  Maybe a little too soon? I think my mom thought the timing was good, but I thought the berries were a little smaller than usual.

I know, I know...he probably shouldn't be having strawberries yet.  Oops, he was fine! Thanks goodness.  There was no stopping my little berry picker.  He wanted those berries and he wanted them now.  We ended up leaving with a little over 12 pounds of berries in the box, but I think the boys ended up eating about half that many while we were out there. What would be fun about picking strawberries if you couldn't eat them as you go?

NO! I swear they didn't eat any :)

We will definitely pick strawberries again.  They did an amazing job of listening and helping.  Although those skills were definitely tested in the end it was all worth it and a tradition to continue with...

Stayed tuned for some Fun with Strawberries!
