You know when you look forward to something so much and then it comes and you want to push it back even farther. I am starting to feel that. Alex is starting preschool this fall in New Market. It's only one night a week and very similar to his ECFE class that he has taken since he was a baby. Except one thing. I don't get to go with him. My baby is growing so fast and all I want right now is for time to freeze. He didn't have too many school supplies to buy, however, this was our first time shopping for school supplies. Lots of people looked at me like I was crazy for taking my kid's picture during school shopping. But, people, what do you expect? I'm a teacher. Alex is a bit hesitant about school, but most of his fears were eased when he found out he has the same teachers as ECFE. He is one lucky little guy, those teachers are amazing!
I'm excited for Alex and this new adventure. He will learn so many neat things. He will refine his ABC's and 123's, enhance his singing voice, make new friends, and love the social interaction. He is ready for this challenge. He loves his "school" ECFE classes and wants to get on the bus every morning to go to school. He is dying to be a big kid and I am dying to keep him a little kid.
