We couldn't have asked for a better ECFE experience with our children. Back in January 2009 we started evening classes with Alex and met a group of people that have become wonderful friends. Although it is getting difficult to coordinate everyone's schedules all the time, we still find time to get together.
This year we headed back to the Chadwick cabin for a weekend of fun. This time with 10 adults, 5 preschoolers (some going to the big K this year), 5 toddlers and a baby. Hopefully I counted right this time.
We were the last to arrive as usual, and missed the catching of a snapping turtle and s'mores. We were glad when we finally made the trip and jumped in on some fishing fun right away!
My boy was born to fish. Tiffany caught one of his "big" catches on video. He was so excited and was screaming/jumping for joy.
It was fun this year as the Big "5" that originally brought us all together had a great time playing together. As Tiffany stated, they didn't need all the toys but used their imaginations for most of the time.
We attempted to get the Little Ones in with them, but they are toddlers and are not going to sit or look at the camera. Next time.
Waiting for some Popsicles that were promised in return for a picture...
Alex and his buddy, Mitchell, had a great time playing in the water. Those boys have to stick together!
Tiffany brought some very nummy strawberries that they kids and adults all loved. Kelly brought a bowl outside for Aiden and Luke. I think Aiden ate them all, plus some.
My monkies...
It was fun as the adults blocked off some time this year. The girls got to go out for a morning pontoon ride and enjoy some conversation and looking at the loons. The boys went out in the afternoon for some fishing. I was told that Andy didn't catch anything, but he made up for it later when he caught his first Dogfish.
We also went for a family pontoon ride. Andy, Nick and Dave stayed back to start dinner while the rest of us went out. Alex was super excited to drive the boat and Aiden seemed to enjoy it, but wasn't sure what to think.
The guys did some betting on the fish that were caught that day at dinner. Who ended up winning anyway?
It was a great weekend of smiles, sunshine, fishing, friendships and sleepovers.
Thank you, Chadwicks, for the wonderful memories!
It was such a fun time. I'm thankful for this tradition!
