Eva was so thoughtful and planned great snacks and Shirley Temple's for the kids. Sam's Mom, Cindy, made cute little fourth of July bags packed with goodies and water guns for the kids. They thought that was so special! It was a beautiful day!
It was very relaxing! We played on the boat and swam in the lake. Alex was even pushed around by Eva on a floatie for quite a while. My back has been hurting me a lot lately, and it seemed to help to just lie on the floaty and relax.
These two tried out the floatie for a while, but I think they preferred the boat (where the snacks were).
Sam's parents let us come over for dinner to grill out and then we headed back out on the lake for the sunset and fireworks. It is so beautiful on the lake at night. Even Aiden and Emily enjoyed their juice at sunset.
The kids were tired from the day before also, but made it up for fireworks. It was fun to watch all the boats gather around and come together for the festivities.
We brought some glow sticks with too and Sam braided matching head bands for himself and Alex.
The kids were getting a bit antsy and then "Boom!" You feel like you are right under the fireworks and they are so loud on the lake. They just bounce off the shores. There really is nothing like watching the fireworks from the lake.
Afterwards we stayed to watch the same house set off about a hundred of those Chinese Lanterns. It really is something to see. Thanks again, Hoppe's!
