Christmas with the Andersen's

We celebrate Christmas with my mom's side of the family, The Andersen's, each year.  My Grandma and Grandpa go to Florida for the winter and we miss them so much.  Christmas with the Andersen's has always been so peaceful and fun.  We used to get together every Christmas Day and for a couple of days afterward.  The Christmas' I can remember were always spent up North at Grandpa and Grandma's and now Aunty Reney and Uncle Jeff's.  We would go up bright and early Christmas Day, bring cookies and presents.  We would open presents as soon as we got there and spend the rest of the time together.  Playing games. Movies. Talking. Being together.  Grandpa would make popcorn balls each year and Grandma would make big Christmas Day meals.  And no doubt, every year, a wrapping paper ball fight would break out.  It still does.  A few pictures from my memories...

Not the proudest of this picture of me, but one of our annual Christmas photos.  Love the matching puffy painted sweatshirts.

I love my Santa Grandpa Andy!

Even though Grandpa and Grandma are in Florida, we are so lucky to still have the Andersen's in town to celebrate with us.

Alex was jumping around and hit his head on the secretary.  Luckily, it went down and you could hardly tell he got hurt, but this is what it looked like at first.

I got them to smile!!

Aiden sat with his Godmom, Cassie, shortly.  She hurt her back the previous day and couldn't move much.  They snuck in a quick snuggle.

Great Aunty Reney made Alex his favorite.  A homemade Shirley Temple with loads of cherries!

Cheers! Merry Christmas, Uncle Luke.  Again, how wonderful are his uncles?  He got them both to play playdough with him.

Playing and teasing Grandpa Johnson

Pete learned how to tie flies for fly fishing.

Alex opened and played with some of his new toys.

We had a wonderful day.  Great conversation, some football, presents and a wonderful meal.  Merry Christmas, Andersen's! We are so blessed to have you in our lives.
