When Alex was a little 13 months old, we went to Sesame Street Live with some friends from ECFE. He was still pretty young at that point to really enjoy the experience, but I was (and am) all about trying to provide my children with life experiences. We didn't go last year, but when I heard SSL was coming to our neighborhood, I couldn't pass the chance up this year. Alex is 3 now and really enjoys the characters. Aiden didn't but into it this year, but we didn't have to purchase a ticket for him to get in and we practiced walking a lot down those big hallways at the Target Center. He did watch about half the show.
This time when we went they had part of the second floor dedicated to fun physical activities for the kids to try for free. Some of them were jumping in a ring, pushing buttons that made the characters talk, dancing and getting your picture taken with some of the cardboard characters. Alex enjoyed talking to them and getting a break to run around.
We sprang for the cheap seats. Does it really matter right now where we sit? We were there and took it in. The boys loved it. That's all that matters to me. We went to McDonalds before the show, Alex's choice. He even bought his own with the gift cards he got for Christmas and his birthday. He was so excited! It was a wonderful family night!
