Andy's last birthday in his 20's! To celebrate 'daddy' we went to lunch at the Blue Door in St. Paul. They have delicious Juicy Lucy's. It's a small restaurant for size, but great service and food and fairly easy to get to. The waitress selected a hamburger for me that I never would have picked on my own, but she said it was to die for. It was a hamburger with bacon on top and peanut butter inside. Sounds gross, right? It was wonderful! I walked an extra 2 miles that day.
After lunch, we headed over to Northern Brewer off Grand Ave. in St. Paul and for Andy's birthday gift. He picked out another brew kit for his home brew. We bought some bottles and went on home so he could get busy cookin'!
My brother Pete's birthday and Andy's are three days apart. We usually end up celebrating both of them together with my family. On this night, my mom made soups (potato, chicken tortilla and taco), salad, bread and pie. Andy got a homemade coffee mug from my parents (Shutterfly)
On Saturday of that weekend, Andy's parents came up for dinner to celebrate. Kathy made Andy's favorite, "Dirt Cake". We made steaks, twice baked potatoes, salad, and Andy's favorite corn recipe. Grandpa and Grandma read many stories to the boys and played too.
"Daddy got a new drill, just like me!" I don't know who was more excited.
