A Day on the Farm

Spending a day with Grandpa and Grandma Guse is pretty special in and of itself, but what it includes farming...well, it pretty much can't be beat!

We headed down to Grandpa and Grandma Guse's to celebrate Grandpa's birthday and to "help" with farming.  We saw Grandma right away when we were pulling up and both the boys practically jumped out of their skin with excitement.  Alex was the first to ride the tractor with Grandma out to the field.  Once he got out there, Grandpa took him for a spin in the "combind".  Grandpa even had a special chair for Alex to sit on.  The whole way down to the farm Alex was trying to explain everything to Aiden.  "Buddy, there is only one chair for us to sit on so you can go next year, maybe".  Or, maybe we'll take turns?

Grandpa said Alex sat so nice in the combine.  He even got to push the handle to let the corn out into the bin.  Things big boys do...

Aiden got his turn eventually on the combine also, but I think he would have been content in the tractor with Grandma all day too.  Smiles from ear to ear and he sat so nicely...for grandma

Grandpa said Aiden started out okay, and then it was all over.  Aiden decided it would be fun to climb on everything and try to figure out all the buttons and levers.  By the time they got back, I think Grandpa got his workout in for the day.

We snuck in some time for riding the go-carts, played inside, talked with Grandma and Grandpa and had a nice dinner Grandma worked very hard on.  We had a great day!

Happy birthday, Grandpa Guse!
