I don't like winter very much, spring is okay, I like fall a lot and I love summer. The things that I am most proud of in my life are my two little loves, Alex and Aiden. I love being a teacher because I have a passion for it, but also it gives me the opportunity to watch and help my kids grow and become the best that they can be.
Summer is over and with that comes the realization that I won't get as much time with the boys for a while now. I think working (for the most part) makes me a better mom and for that I am grateful. But, it is never easy to leave the boys, especially after being with them during the summer.
So, we are tried crunching in all the things we wanted to do into a shortened time frame and accomplished some of them.
1. I wanted to make more projects with them.
We started with a picnic for ants. This was more for Alex, but Aiden enjoyed finger painting.
2. Spend more time downstairs, in our "toy room". The boys have so many toys and we want to give them all equal playing time. We just organized an area in the house for their toys and I love not tripping over them wherever I go!
3. Go on a Nature Scavenger Hunt. I looked it up on Pinterest and was able to find one to print off, put on a clipboard and go! Alex loved finding different objects, shapes, and textures. He even collected some of the stuff for Aiden too. We didn't find a feather on this day, but we did find one later in the week at Cleary and he was quick to pick it up so we could add it to our collages.
4-5. Spend some more time with our friends, the DenHartogs, and go out to Cleary Lake. We met them out there one day for a walk around the park, picnic and a little play time at the beach. We had a blast!
6. Make s'mores. So, I cheated and we made them in the oven...who cares! They were just as delicious, we made them and everyone enjoyed them!
Although it went fast, it was a great summer! Of course we didn't do everything we planned, but that's life. I'll add it to another list. You know I am the master lister.
