State Fair Trip #1

We love going to the Minnesota State Fair and make a trip for sure once a year.  I will be honest and say the crowds are the one thing that could possibly turn me away. But, I go in knowing what to expect and the people were definitely out this year!

I headed out early the first Saturday of the fair with my mom, Alex and Aiden.  We stopped at Office Max on the way because they had free breakfast for teachers along with a coupon for a free massage and a bunch of free teacher supplies.  Way to go Office Max!!
Grandma found Alex a Spiderman doll right away.  Is that what they are called? Spiderman dolls?

Of course one of our first stops was to the WCCO booth and we had to get our picture taken with Sid.  My dad would be jealous.

I have been trying to watch what I am eating, but had saved up enough points for a pronto pup.  All in all that day, I had two, Alex had two, Aiden had two and my mom had one.

After about an hour, Great Auntie Reney and Cassie joined us for the rest of the afternoon.  We headed right over to the DNR building to check out the fish and get a really cool looking hat.  We even got to meet and get our picture taken with Smokey the Bear.  Although, I can say neither of the boys were too thrilled about that.  He was a little scary!

So, it has rained only a handful of times this summer and today was one of those days!  That's okay...we had umbrellas and it was just fine!

Aiden fell asleep and took a good nap!

We got to check out the education building!  This is by far my favorite part of going to the fair.  We definitely scored on the free pencils and other give aways going on this day.

We saved Alex and Aiden's favorite thing until last...the rides and ice cream.  They were in their element.

Another great year at the fair!  Despite the rain, we still got to do most everything we wanted.  We missed out on the animals, but that's okay.  We had heard it might not have been a great year to visit them anyway with the different strands of flu viruses that were going around.  And, well, we don't need anymore sickness around here!

We left the fair around 3:30ish, got home, picked up Daddy and the Hoppe's and were back at the fair by 5...
