I am so happy for my kids that they have two sets of wonderful, loving grandparents that don't live more than an hour away from us. Grandpa and Grandma Guse made a trip out to Washington to visit Andy's brother, Nate and his wife and our friend, Abby. They had just gotten back and we decided to head down to visit them and surprise them. We brought them ice cream treats and hand made cards. They were surprised, I think it could be classified as a good surprise.
While we were down there, we went over to Andy's Grandpa and Grandma Guse's old farm. We picked some apples from their apple tree. Aiden loved taking bites out of all the apples and Alex tried using the apple picker to pick the apples out of the tree.
We also planted pumpkins down there last spring and wanted to see if they were growing. So, even though it was dark out, we headed over to the pumpkin patch to see if they were growing and boy were they!
The next day was Sunday morning and Andy went out hunting dark and early. So, when the boys and I woke up we headed over to the next town to pick up some McDonald's breakfast for my mom and dad. We surprised them with breakfast and coffee as well as hand made cards. They were surprised.
And Aiden took bites out of some of my mom's tomatoes...we then had BLT's for lunch that day.
Happy Grandparents Day to all the Grandparents out there!
