Road Trip: Day 3

Day 3 was our first day to see Washington state.  Neither Andy nor myself had ever been and we were excited.  Abby took the day off last minute since we didn't think we would be there until Friday.  She's such a great friend!

Our first adventure was on a ferry ride to the Olympic Peninsula. It was pretty overcast and dreary out, so we didn't see much on the ride out there. But, it was fun to drive the car onto the ferry, park it and walk around. Once we drove off the ferry we grabbed lunch at a little cafe called The Cup.

Next, we drove out to the Olympic Game Farm, which was an experience of a life time.  Not being a pet/animal lover myself, I loved sitting in the back and observing.  Andy drove and Abby sat next to him while we drove through the farm.  All sorts of animals including deer, duck, zebra, elk, buffalo, llama, yak, and bison would walk up to your car where you would feed them wheat bread.  They were not shy either.  They would get right in your face.  Although the bears did not come directly up to your car for obvious reasons including the electrical fence that was keeping them back, you could throw them bread and they would wave at you.  I think the kids enjoyed the experience.  They didn't want to get too close, but were interested in what was going on.  I am so glad we were able to do this.  Great idea, Abby!

We went to a little beach area on the Olympic Peninsula to walk around for a bit before heading back on the ferry, grabbing some dinner and then some sleep.  It was a fun, busy day!
