We had planned for day number eight (Tuesday) to be a driving day and that it was. Even more than we had expected. We changed our plans on a whim and instead of driving for Yellowstone, drove to the Black Hills.
Since we knew we were going to be in the car longer, we planned a stop about half way through the trip. We left Seattle at about 8 am and stopped in Missoula, MT at around 5 pm. We found a water park, Splash Montana and decided this would be a good spot to tire the kids out at.
We were right! After the water and a quick dinner we were back on the road for another 14 hours only to arrive in the Black Hills at 11am the next morning. The boys slept through the night and neither Andy nor myself slept at all. Well, I guess if you count pulling over in the dead of nowhere for a quick 1 hour nap, then we stopped for a short break.
