Road Trip: Day 5

Day 5 was Saturday and a little less busy. Andy and Nate wanted to do some fishing so Abby and I took the boys to the Woodland Park Zoo.

The park was huge with a lot of animals and exhibits to see.  We were there for a good portion of the day and didn't get to everything!  We were able to use our MN Zoo pass for a 1/2 price discount on admission, which was wonderful!

Although it was fun, the boys were a little off their game this day.  Being on vacation, Alex having a little fever, late nights/no naps was all catching up to us!  Don't let this fake smile fool you...  It seemed like when one was happy the other wasn't.  Yes, it was that kind of a day.

An exhibit we were all happy to see was the Elephant Exhibit.  He played right in front of us too!

Not my proudest moment as a parent, but I bought Alex a face painting.  Not my proudest moment because I had already told him "No" and It costs 15.00!  They were wearing on me and I needed a break from the whining.  We all cave at some point, right?

Although there were definitely low points to the day (including spilling on my shirt even before entering the park) and moments where I felt like I was failing as a mother (like when Aiden threw the biggest tantrum he's had in a long time), we also had some fun exploring a new Zoo.

Needless to say, we got some dinner and headed home for an early bed that night!
